Mini Diggers Café Blindfold Competition – Official Rules

Blindfold or Under the Table

  • Players can choose to compete blindfolded or under the table.

  • Blindfolds must sit above the eyebrows and below the nose – no peeking!

Navigator’s Role

  • Each team has an operator (controls the digger) and a navigator (gives instructions).

  • Navigators may give verbal instructions and can place their hands lightly on the operator’s shoulders to guide direction.

  • Navigators must not push, steer, or physically force the operator in any way. If the operator is shoved or moved, it’s an automatic disqualification.

Track Rules

  • If the entire truck crosses outside the line markings, it’s an automatic disqualification.

  • Partial crossing is okay unless a judge rules it as leaving the track.

Timing & Rounds

  • Competition length: 1 hour.

  • Each team gets 30 minutes practice + 30 minutes competition runs.

  • The fastest official time wins.

Tie-Breaker

  • In the event of a tie, a sudden-death run will decide the winner.

  • Fastest clean run wins the tie-break.

Safety & Fair Play

  • Cheating (lifting blindfolds, secret signals, or rough play) = automatic disqualification.

  • All players must follow staff instructions. Unsafe behavior = removal from the game.

  • Judge’s decisions are final.

Winning

  • The winner of your session is the team with the fastest valid run.

Mini Diggers Café Sand Dump Challenge – Official Rules

  • Stay steady! Truck falls off the ramp or platform = disqualification.

  • Hit the target! All sand must be dumped exactly where the Host directs.

  • Start line check. Both front wheels must be behind the line before each run.

  • No jump starts. Three false starts = automatic disqualification.

  • Sand check. Truck must be completely emptied for your run to count.

  • Fair play. Our crew will groom and reset the sand for each competitor.

  • Challenge Briefing. Uchie will explain all rules before the challenge begins.
